This place is what every songwriter dreams of when they're playing the
other so-called musical places. People actually listening to music!!
A real class act.
Thanks so much for
your hospitality! I'll play your place any time you'll have me. Maybe
next time I'll bring my daughter.
Thanks.....LC

As we were outside waiting to go on "At The Richmonds," sitting
among the 1000 or so lightening bugs in the twilight, I was thinking
. . . . what a great job. Playing in a place like that, with nice people
all around, a beautiful spot to be, and a wonderful performance space.
. .that's why we put up with waiting around airports, driving forever,
staying in hotels and all the other crap that goes along with being
a performer.

At The Richmond's is a unique experience -- the ambiance of a house
concert with the stage, sound and lights of a top flight concert hall.
The Richmonds have succeeded in creating an atmosphere that lets the
love flow both from the stage and toward it.

It was amazing! It felt like big hugs and kisses from God. Your warmth
and kindness reminds me of what I've read in Acts 2:42 about great fellowship,
unity, and all things in common. Thanks again for the experience.Your
friend, Shawn

Dear Vicky and Jes,
Who'd
have figured? What a great time we had playing at your place! It was
absolutely one of the most fulfilling performances I've ever had - really!
The audience gave back so much and you and Jes are about the two sweetest
people I've met in a long, long time! Thank God for you both and for
what you are providing there "At the Richmonds".

and Love,

you guys are the coolest. when i pulled off the interstate in a full
blown blizzard i couldn't have known how it would go. would anybody
even show in that weather? would i have to wear a hat and gloves on
stage? even though i play only listening rooms I've learned to keep
my expectations low and be prepared for anything .. but with that said
i know how it should be done. you guys nailed it. the place was packed
even in that blizzard which is a testament to how awesome the place
is and how highly people regard you. the wood stove was kicking, the
sound was amazing, yours and Tim Grimms' sets were terrific and it was
a magical evening. thanks for all that. don con

Hi Vic and Jes,
I haven't had time
to sit down and write an appropriate letter of thanks and I didn't wanna
just send a silly ole "wham bam thank you ma'am" email. You both have
paid your dues beyond the call of duty in the music world. Because of
this, you have created a "Shangri-la." In the infamous words of Ernest
Tubb, "Thanks...thanks alot!"
I have to tell you how much I enjoyed playing your venue and as you
know I have played a few around the world in my time. I have to tell
you how comfortable you two made us feel with your hospitality. I have
to tell you how great the sound is, how genuinely warm the ambiance
is, and how aesthetically divine your room is. Thanks so much for the
invitation. I could have played to 2 people or 200 people "At the
Richmond's" and it would have felt the same. A genuinely interested
audience always makes an artist want to fill them up with more than
just song. Because of what you have created, Matt, Tom, and I were filled
up!!
What you are and will be doing for music (and Shelbyville), one can
only hope the people living there and miles around will be breaking
down the doors to get in. What they are about to witness is a venue
full of personality and all the things an artist hopes for when they
hit the stage. And when an artist is happy, they're going to make their
audience happier! I'll be passing the word onto fellow artists around
the states. Playing your venue IS A MUST! Love you guys and thanks again...we'll
be back!

"At The Richmond's" was like a room full of strangers morphing
into a room full of your best friends. They laughed at my jokes and
appreciated Doug tuning his guitar...I didn't know such respect was
possible. I think the audience takes its' cues from Vicky and Jes. They
have set the stage for a dreamlike environment. Thanks for everything.

A cold rainy, foggy January evening...transformed instantly the moment
I walked through the front door and was welcomed by a smiling Jes Richmond.
"what a beautiful room" was my first thought. From the moment
we walked through those doors, we were treated like family. Everything
was top notch and the Richmond's made me feel as if I were a member
of some royal family. I would be happy (as a musician) if I could find
a place like "At The Richmond's" in every corner of the world.
Fortunately, for us Indiana folk ... they are right here. Jes and Vicky
are two of the most inspirational & positive people I have had the
good fortune to meet. Once you visit this place you will understand
just what I mean...

THIS is where music should
be played. Make no mistake, whatever you hear (At The Richmond's) should
be a treat. It's a place for magic and simple gifts. It's red brick
and white curtains, front porch and wooden beams…. The room is alive
and the sound is as good as it gets. Come to this place, it will lift
your spirits. Snowflakes fell, the woodstove roared, Vic & Jes are their
own delightful house band and began the evening's journey…. This listening
room is as good as it gets. And for this one night that you're there,
you're "home". It feels so right and easy. Unbelievable spot for music
in the heartland. We should all treasure this place!

Wow! What an experience! A
night at “At The Richmond’s” was like a dream come
true for the performers and patrons alike. A pastoral setting, an historic
venue, gracious hosts, warm light, open windows with a gentle spring
breeze blowing the lace curtains about, and the rich acoustic sounds
of Indiana’s own Larry Crane and The Spud Puppies made for an
unbeatable combination in live entertainment! While this may be one
of Indiana’s best kept secrets, I can only say that I hope it
isn’t for long. What Jes and Vicky are working so hard to provide
to music lovers can only be described as exceptional, indeed! All you
had to do was just “be there” and see the smiles on every
face in the capacity crowd to know that you were a part of something
truly special. The Spud Puppies would like to express a heart-felt “thanks
and keep on keepin’ on” to Jes and Vicky Richmond for bringing
to life a wonderful and unique vision for the live musical experience.
We’ll NEVER forget it!

What an amazing evening . . .
Thanks for your ridiculous hospitality
Thanks for the wood-burning stove that smelled so good
Thanks for the tiny star soaps in the bathroom
Thanks for inviting us to eat all of the cheese on the cheese tray (which
we did).
Thank you for creating
a place with soul, with guts, and with upturned faces that delight in
the music.
We delight in YOU
and would truly be honored to come back someday.
Please let us know
if there's any way for us to help spread the word to the masses about
your little treasure in the country.
Cheers and blessings
to you

| Jes
and Vic:
I want to thank
you for the wonderful feelings that we experienced last night at your
place. The venue is thick with a positive, home-like, spiritually rich
vibe that we have never witnessed before. It is without a doubt the
best place we've ever played at. Your hospitality was very comforting
and the bunch of people you managed to gather was possibly the best
ever as well. You guys made us feel really appreciated and made me feel
like a star!. I am very grateful for what you did for us and what you're
doing for the beautiful art that music is. Kudos for your love and hard
work! I hope to see you soon and thanks again.

"At the Richmond's"
All the energy of a huge concert hall with all the intimacy of a small
coffee house. A room that can make strangers feel like old friends.
You can sense instantly that the Richmond's experience is not created
by business people it is created by music people.
Thank you Vic and Jes,
